Description   Through our proposed package, you will discover the raw and pristine beauty of the himalayas, the “little Tibet” of India. The Ladakh region offers many marvels, from the medieval buddhist monasteries of Alchi and Tikse and their delicate frescoes, to salt-water lakes and impressive valleys. You will travel for 9 days through the picturesque and spectacular landscapes of this “land of endless discoveries”, experiencing the unique indo-tibetan buddhist culture, all of which contribute to making Ladakh a truly unique destination in India.

Package Details

Day  1
Arrival in Delhi : We will welcome you at the airport and take you to your hotel in the centre of the city, where you will spend the night.

Day  2
On this second day, you will take an early flight to Leh, where you will be taken to your hotel upon arrival. Don’t forget to look out the window of the aircraft for an unforgettable view of the Himalayas!

Day   3
After acclimatising to the high altitude, you will travel to the eastern part of the Indus valley, to Chemre and Tikse, where you will visit some of Ladakh’s most beautiful monasteries. You will then spend the night in Leh at a guesthouse.

Day   4
On day 4, you will leave for the western part of the Indus Valley, visiting the monastery of Likir before continuing on to Lamayuru where you will spend the height in a basic-contort home stay.

Day   5
The next day, we will visit two of Ladakh’s most important monasteries on the way back to Leh. Alchi hosts what is arguably the most beautiful monastery in Ladakh. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest monasteries in the Tibetan world, with frescoes and paintings rarely equaled in all of the Himalayas. In Phyang, you will visit the 16th century monastery of the monks of the Sakyapa or “red hat” sect, an ancient school of Tibetan Buddhism which has its main monastery in Rumtek, in the state of Sikkim.

Day   6
We once again ascend in the Indus valley and visit the Tikse monastery before heading south to Tso Kar, a salt-water lake with a lunar backdrop. We will camp near Thukie village. The Tikse monastery is a marvel of architecture which is not to be missed. Rupshu (aka Changtang) is the name of the Indian part of the Tibetan plateau which extends over a staggering 2000 km form east to west, with an average height of 4500m. Only nomads inhabit this regions, which is home to many animal species such as wild hares, marmots, white partridges, mountain goats and the very rare snow leopard.

Day  7
On day 7, we drive along a winding road to reach Tso Moriri lake, the largest of the the high-altitude lakes in the trans-himalayan region. On the way, we will visit Karzok and its 300 year-old monastery where 30 monks reside. You can take a stroll to the west of the river nearby and engage with the local nomads.

Day   8
On this day we leave Tso-Moriri lake to visit the magnificent Thatsang Karu Lake and the Namshang Pass. We will travel more than 150 km in the Indus valley and visit the Tikse monastery en route to Leh, where you will enjoy a well-deserved shower and spend the last night in the guest-house before heading back to Delhi.

Flight back from Leh to Delhi.

Day   10
You will have the day to enjoy the sites of the capital at your lea sure before boarding your international flight back.
