Description : India is known as the land of tigers . There are several National Parks in India that give you an enriching wildlife experience .Example: Rhinos of Kaziranga ,Lions of Gir and Tigers of Badhavgarh.
Thanks to its variety of ecosystems and climates, India hosts a great biodiversity. It has many endemic plants and animals, only found in India. However, for the last decades, animals have been seriously menaced due to human growth. In order to face it, the government has widened the protected and national parks. They created a project to protect tigers and their environments.
The plants are particularly abundant , in the Ganges plain, thanks to the humidity, as well as in the Southeast plains. The north is mostly covered by conifers and tropical or subtropical vegetation. This vegetation is also found on the Malabar Cost, and on the Western Ghats, where it rains often. The Backwaters are covered with dense forests. In the Deccan region, vegetation is less dense, with bamboo forests and palm trees. The Indian vegetation is highly varied, depending on the geography.
This phenomenon is also noticed with the animal wildlife. Even if lions disappeared from India, you can still see a few in Gir, Gujarat. Moreover, the tiger stays menaced even though many efforts have been made to protect them. You can encounter 80 of them in the Bandipur Park and the Sanctuary of Periyar, among few others. The Asian elephant lives mostly in the Himalayas and in the deccan forests. However, the Mudumalai Park in Tamil Nadu, lies on 5 500 km2 and is the biggest park for elephants as is also ,the Bandipur Park. Among the other species you might encounter, rhinoceros, gaurs, bears, wolves, jackals, dholes, wild ox, boars, and diverse species of monkeys, antelopes and deers. The Himalayas hostmany species of wild goats, sheep and ibex. There are also different types of snakes.
The Andaman and Nicobal Islands, in the Bay of Bengal, are famous diving spots. It is not necessary to dive deep in order to be amazed by the underwater wildlife. The Wandoor Marine National Park covers bays, coral massifs, tropical forests, but also multicolor fish species, dolphins, crabs, sea stars, etc.
Through its biodiversity, India offers all kind of adventures. In a few days, you can go through all ecosystems and witness rare and impressive wildlife. Thanks to the National Parks, the species are protected, but it is in the Indian countryside that you might go through the most amazing encounters.
