Description :  India is a place of rich traditions and history. In Delhi, you will discover the impressive heritage of the Mughal era, embodied by the imposing Qutub Minar, the detailed and well-preserved islamic architecture of Humayun Tomb and the gigantic Red fort, in the heart of the city. A few hours train from Delhi, you will be immersed in India’s hindu culture along the banks of the holy Ganges. Witness mystical hindu ceremonies in Haridwar, take time to meditate and find inner peace in Rishikesh, the world capital of yoga. Mix-up culture, relaxation and health for a week that will give you an insight into India and its culture.

Package Details

Day  1
Arrival in Delhi
On arrival to Delhi, transfer into a hotel for overnight stay. We will welcome you at the airport and take you to your hotel where you will stay the night.

Day  2
Delhi
After breakfast, we will take you on a sightseeing tour in Delhi to discover the city’s rich historic heritage. We will visit Qutub Minar, an ancient islamic monument with arabic inscriptions, made of red sandstone and marble. We will then visit India Gate, a national monument in the heart of Delhi, which is now the Indian army’s tomb of the “unknown soldier”. We will then move on to Humayun Tomb, the 16th century tomb of the Mughal emperor Humayun. With its many gardens and different buildings, this Unesco world heritage site is one of the most beautiful and well preserved of the Mughal era in India. We will then drive past to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace and then enjoy a sound and light show at the imposing Red Fort, a seventeenth century fort complex with served as the residence of Mughal emperors, in the heart of Delhi.

Day   3
Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh
We will take an early morning train to the holy city of Haridwar. We will transfer to the hotel on arrival, and take some time to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will go site-seeing in Haridwar and the adjoining city of Rishikesh, visiting Ashrams and meditation centres. In Haridwar, you can witness hindu ceremonies on the city’s ghats, the steps that lead into the Ganges. Rishikesh, which is built on both banks of the Ganges, offers beautiful views on river and is known as the “world capital of yoga”. You can opt to stay at an ashram and enroll in one of the many meditation centres there.

Day   4 To 6
Rishikesh
We will use the morning to do meditation and yoga, following classes at the ashram. After this, you will have breakfast and you will have to rest of the morning to spend at your leisure. After lunch, we will attend a lecture on meditation. We will then attend a yoga and meditation class after tea-time. We will have dinner at the ashram, where you will stay overnight.

Day   7
Rishikesh – Delhi
Take the morning to relax, meditate, at your leisure. After lunch , we will drive back to Delhi, a bit later in the afternoon. You will be taken to your hotel to freshen up, relax for a few hours and have dinner, after which you will be taken to the airport to catch your flight for your next destination!
